I went away because I didn't have anything left to say. But now I'm full of words and I don't know where to begin.
I'm not saying I'm perfect and I'm sure as hell not saying I am the solution: I'm not even saying I have the solution but I do have eyes and ears and enough sense to see the world is going down and change has got to start somewhere.
It would have been easy to remain silent continuing to hide in the shadows and not get involved. But the time has come for us, as a generation, to begin to not stand any longer for what we've been handed.
I've heard people say that we have nothing left to protest. Turn on CNN. If you read five minutes of whats going on in this crazy spinning orb you'll quickly discover that we've either got to stand or get ready to be pushed over.
Revolution is not birthed with an epidural... you've got to feel the pain. We've allowed ourselves to be drugged and sedated for far to long. But I'm not willing to be part of the status quo and I'm not ready to back down and watch this town, this country and this world to blow itself up.
As long as there is killing in the streets, as long as babies aren't able to be born, as long as the world is at war, as long as people aren't able to eat, as long as hatred is preached from the sidewalks, as long as you and I are breathing... there's always something to stand up for and stand against.
You are ready?
- The Rev.
